Autumn Outfit: Wool Turtleneck & Vintage Céline Bag

The Layer That Fixed My Whole Week

Some days I really don't have the energy to think about what I'm wearing, and today was one of those. It's that classic late September weather where you're still deciding whether to grab a coat or stubbornly pretend it's still summer, so I just reached for whatever was closest.

Which turned out to be this sweater. Cossac is one of the brands we carry at Noumenon, and this chunky wool and alpaca turtleneck is exactly the kind of piece I keep pulling for myself when I'm supposed to be working. It's an ecru shade that doesn't really match anything and somehow goes with everything, the kind of sweater you sink into on the couch but that still looks put together enough to leave the house in. I've worn it three times this week already and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Underneath, some baggy high waist jeans, roomy and easy, because after summer I have zero interest in anything that pinches.

The finishing touches

The Céline Macadam bag is doing a lot of the work here, that pattern has such a timeless, Parisian feel to it, and it dresses the whole look up without trying too hard. I paired it with these clip on earrings, small and simple, just enough to catch the light without competing with everything else going on. It's that mix I keep coming back to, something soft and oversized on top, something structured and a little more polished carried alongside it. That contrast is what makes an outfit feel finished to me.

Why I sell my own vintage instead of just storing it

I think that's part of why I love doing this. A new sweater can be great, but there's something different about passing on a piece you've actually worn and loved, knowing it's going to keep living somewhere else instead of sitting in a box. It's the same instinct that pushed me to build Noumenon around pieces meant to last rather than pieces meant to be replaced, just applied to my own closet this time.
